"Smart Home System" Educational Kit
Dr. PC Family -
Smart Home Series

Arduino Coding Education

10 lessons of teaching materials

(2-3 hours STEM activities per lesson)

The Box Set

From the Educational Kit (EdKit-1) consist of:

-  Arduino board
-  Shield A (Sensors)
-  Shield B (Color LED)
-  Shield C (Smart air, cool and hot air)
-  Electrical wire
-  LED lamp connect to USB

The hardware design increase your success in 100%,

because there is only one wire needed to connect,

which is the USB cable connect from Arduino board to the computer.

Shields Design for Arduino UNO

Shield A

Shield B

Shield C

If the activities are program sensors. Student plug the Shield A on top of the Arduino board, then connect USB cable to the computer. That's all you connect the hardware. The lesson will guide you the software programming by mblock step by step until success. The coding will detect the sensor and collect signal from sensors, including photocell, touch sensor, push button, and buzzer. The student could program the brightness of LED according to the sensor readings.

If the activities is color mixing by red, green and blue. Student plug the Shield B on top of the Arduino board, then connect USB cable to the computer. That's all you connect the hardware. The lesson will guide you the software programming by mblock step by step until success. The coding will detect the rotation of each rotatable device and output corresponding light intensity of light. Student may mix any color by the three knobs.

If the activities is smart air conditioning. Student plugs the Shield C on top of the Arduino board, then connect a USB cable to the computer. That's all you connect the hardware. The lesson will guide you the software programming by mblock step by step until success. The coding will generate cool air or hot air, the student could feel the temperature and modify the software to change temperature.

To Start Up

Choose a shield (A, B, or C) and plug into Arduino board, connect the USB cable to computer.

Install mBlock in your computer, it is a programming without write line-by-line of codes. Have fun!

Our mission and goal

in Smart Home EdKit-1

Increase competitiveness

Students could thrive in our highly technological world.

Connecting between disciplines

The Smart Home EdKit-1 design in connecting between disciplines by skills and concepts all work together.

Create new learning approach

Create an interdisciplinary approach to learning that removes traditional barriers separating the four disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics and integrates them into real-world, rigorous, and relevant learning experiences for students.

Advance early age practical learning

When students learn practical skill start from the age range of 10 to 14, they could start to handle the electronic components and wire them up altogether to a functional project from the age range of 15 to 17.

EdKit-1 Smart Home Project Educational Kit

This smart home kit is an accessory kit intended to be used with Arduino UNO (included). Please refer to instruction and safety to avoid damage to your board or the components included with this kit. It consists of a box set with Arduino cool /hot temperature like an air conditioning). We have used this educational kit to conduct STEM activities in both primary school and secondary school. There are 10 lessons,  each lesson suitable for a 2 to 3 hours STEM activities. generating Board, and Three Shields (Shield A are sensors, Shield B for color/mix LED color light, Shield C for mblock programming with be use and students will easily enjoy programming without a need to write line by line codes.

Recommend Age: Smart home kit is recommended for ages 11 and above.
